We here at “Getting Hammered,” your morning show for any hour, have an announcement to make. In these times of media landscape tumult, we have come to a crossroads and must find a new home and way forward for our podcast. We are extremely grateful for the 3+ years and hundreds of episodes we’ve been able to create as part of the Nebulous podcast network, and though the network won’t go on, we hope the show will!
We have a couple episodes left in our current home on our regular schedule and we’ll be working on a solution for the future (right after we sober up from our latest summer-cocktail taste test, coming Friday!). Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or just joined us, we appreciate you so much. Vic and I know we have such loyal listeners, and it’s a privilege to have so many of you join us as we goof off through the onslaught of news. We owe huge thank-yous to all of y’all and to our wonderful producers through the years—Alex, Jennifer, Colin, and Phil— who have been uniformly dedicated, smart, funny, and tolerant of our nonsense. Special shout-outs to an original listener, the Fetching Mrs. Hewitt and Hugh Hewitt, our biggest promoter.
The nice thing about the ever-democratizing new media is there are lots of opportunities for running a podcast or landing it somewhere. Stay tuned to this spot for updates as we work through that, and feel free to let us know if you have ideas. As you know if you listen to the show, I’m not a planner, so I am no stranger to swift changes on the fly. I consider it yet another opportunity to be overcaffeinated and underprepared.
So, stay tuned, friends! You can listen to us in our normal spot being moderately right and moderately reliable through next week, you can find me on “Normally” with my friend Karol, here, and Vic at the Free Beacon turning out great work. And, as always, thank you for getting hammered responsibly!
Any chance you can land on Megyn Kelly's new podcast group?
It might be interesting for listeners to hear some of the behind the scenes info on how a podcast is made and distributed, and how that led to now. I don't really understand it. Who owns the IP? What do the producers do? It sounds like it is so easy to launch a podcast that anyone can do it, so what does (did) a network like Nebulous provide? Especially since you never had ads on the pod - I could see if the network sold and placed ads on the show. Just a thought to give us listeners something to keep us satiated while the pod finds a new home. What about Ricochet as a new home, since they host so many other like-minded podcasts?
