Beautiful, MK! The part where Fancy perks up on her last day was wrenching. (In a sweet way). When I took my Siamese in for the last time, they put us in a room where the comfortable chair for us was placed in the sunshine. Also in the room was a big birdcage with at least 20 paraqueets flitting and chirping. Simba raised his head with perky interest and I second-guessed myself. But the vet reassured me that it was time. I do get a lot of comfort in knowing that his last sensations were the New Mexico sun on his face and the sound of many happy birds.
